What Makes George Kill Things?

Part 5/6

In this part it seems like Lennie's obsession of petting soft things have come back again. He pets the dog till it tried to bite him and then it was killed. He also pets Curley's Wife's Hair and that doesn't end… well. Both of the times he uh killed them it was because they started to fight back or in the Wife's case tried to rat Lennie out. In these situations Lennie had ended up being scared before his final blow. I think when Lennie gets scared or nervous he doesn't know how to react to it and uses his aggression to push it out of him. On page 91 Lennie shows us how he handled this anger, "Then Lennie grew angry. "Now don't." he said." A little later he says, "You gonna get me in trouble just like George says you will" also on page 91.
