Part 4: Curley's Wife's Rudeness

           One thing that surprised me in part 4 was how rude Curley's wife was to Crooks and Candy.  For example when she said to Crooks, "'Listen n-, you know what I can do to you if you open your trap? ...I could get you strung up on a tree so easy it ain't even funny'"(80-81). Curley's wife just barged right into Crooks room without permission. Crooks even stood up for himself and told her that she had no right just barging into a colored man's room but she just threatened him. She didn't have a right going into someone else's room without their permission no matter the color of their skin. Candy stood up for Crooks and told Curley's wife that he wouldn't let Crooks get hung because he clearly did nothing wrong. Curley's wife wouldn't barge into Candy's room because he is white but when it comes to Crooks, she could do whatever she wanted because he was african american. How rude! In conclusion, Curley's wife had no right to threaten Crooks or go into his room in the first place.
